If looking good is the best revenge, Jennifer Lopez— who split from husband of seven years Marc Anthony last summer — has been getting plenty of it lately. She stunned at the Oscars on Sunday in a plunging Zuhair Murad shimmering gown. Now, days later, the 42-year-old is showing off her killer bod in an unusual photo shoot for V Magazine. In the spring issue’s cover photo, the “American Idol” judge dons wrist wraps, a men’s groin protector (“I thought it was more graphic,” J. Lo says of why she chose the male version over the female one.), tiny tee, and leather jacket, revealing her super-toned legs and muscular abs. “It did make me feel tougher,” she admits of the look.

Not that Lopez — who’s now dating 24-year-old dancer Casper Smart — is looking for revenge on her ex, she insists. “I mean, we’re parents and friends first,” she tells the magazine. “That will be the thread that ties us together. Deion Sanders’ divorce case is taking a turn for the uglier.

Pilar Sanders has filed two lawsuits in Collin County district coirt seeking $200 million in damages for an alleged assault as well as libelous and slanderous remarks 

These legal matters are separate from the divorce Deion Sanders filed for in December. The Hall of Fame cornerback and NFL Network analyst is facing a messy public battle right now.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Pilar Sanders alleged that her husband and other are to blame for emotional and physical abuse as well as mental distress, public humiliation and financial damage. 

In one suit, Pilar Sanders targets a Twitter post made by Deion Sanders’ daughter in which she called Pilar Sanders “the number one gold digger of the year.”

According to the report, Pilar Sanders claims Deion Sanders also attacked her with a post about his wife’s “lies and folloishness. 

The second suit is centered on an alleged assault as at the couple’s home.

Tiki Barber is reportedly set to marry the former NBC intern he left his pregnant wife for in 2010. The small fact that the former New York Giants running back still hasn’t finalized his divorce from his wife Ginny doesn’t appear to be holding up the process.

The New York Post reports that Tiki’s “new love,” Traci Lynn Johnson, will be receiving a bridal shower this weekend at the swanky Manhattan wine bar, Bahr Che. It will be thrown by Erica Rivera, the wife of journalist and provocateur Geraldo Rivera.

Barber left his wife of 11 years in 2010 when she was pregnant with twins. He met Johnson during his short-lived stint as a correspondent for the “Today” show.

The Post reports that Tiki and Ginny’s divorce has been held up by discussions on alimony and child support.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Calling him a “big boy,” Archie Manning said on Friday afternoon that he anticipates that son Peyton Manning will be able to return to the NFL and play in the 2012 season, having recently seen his son throw the ball with “no setbacks.”

This lines up with a recent report by Albert Breer of the NFL Network, in which it was revealed that Peyton’s arm strength, at this point the most crucial part of his recovery process, is definitely improving.

Peyton, who has had four neck surgeries in the last two seasons, and missed last year due to those surgeries and the nerve impingements resulting from them, has been rehabbing for several months. Over the past few weeks, erstwhile NBA star Allen Iverson has been in the news for money troubles. There were reports that he was completely broke — an amazing idea given he made more than $150 million just from NBA salary — followed by condescending offers from minor sports teams. It was a sad story, a circus, and a cautionary tale all at once.

Except it turns out that the entire story was overblown. According to a new report, Iverson isn’t broke at all — in fact, he has millions of dollars in the bank. He just doesn’t have access to all of it. From the always trustworthy Peter Vecsey for the New York Post (via SLAM):

He is far from insolvent, at least in the real world, if not in harmony with his “nothing in moderation” lifestyle. Someone who cared a great deal for Iverson and grasped the extent of his habits, loyalties and generosity protected him to some degree from financial ruination, at 36, at any rate.

A person with a firm grip on the situation informs me Iverson has an account worth $32 million, a principal he is prohibited from touching until 55. In the meantime, it feeds him $1 million annually.

At 45, Iverson is eligible to start drawing on an NBA pension that maxes out at 10 years of active duty, or take whatever’s there as lump sum. He will be entitled roughly to $8,000 per month ($800 per x 10).

If at all possible, Iverson will issue a restraining order against himself until he’s 62 or so. The Charlotte Bobcats are 4-29 with half of the NBA’s lockout-shortened 66-game season to go. The team is last in offensive efficiency and 29th out of 30 teams in defensive efficiency, which is quite the accomplishment. Former Knicks and Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy pointed out on Friday that Paul Silas “should be Coach of the Year” for pulling out those four wins in 33 tries. Earlier on Friday, NBA deputy commissioner Adam Silver was moved to try to explain away Bobcats owner/GM Michael Jordan’s executive acumen, and on Thursday Jordan friend and NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley essentially blamed Jordan’s miserable record as Bobcat boss on being surrounded by a series of yes-men.

In an interview with ESPN Chicago’s “Waddle and Silvy Show,” Barkley blamed the Bobcats’ miserable record on Jordan’s inability to surround himself with basketball minds that would stand up to the person routinely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. Here’s Chuck’s take:

“I think the biggest problem has been I don’t know if he has hired enough people around him who he will listen to. One thing about being famous is the people around you, you pay all their bills so they very rarely disagree with you because they want you to pick up the check. They want to fly around on your private jet so they never disagree with you. In what is easily the biggest demotion for a celebrated player of his kind in NBA history, Dallas Mavericks forward (and 2011 Sixth Man of the Year award-winner) Lamar Odom has been sent to the D-League to work his way back into both mental and physical playing shape. Odom, who has never gotten over being nearly traded to the New Orleans Hornets from the Los Angeles Lakers last December, is suffering through a miserable year and will spend at least one game with the Mavs’ D-League affiliate in Frisco, Texas. There, he’ll be asked to work with former NBA coach Del Harris while playing with the Texas Legends, in hopes of getting his game and head straight following a miserable start to the 2011-12 season.

Odom left the Mavericks last week to care for his ailing father in Los Angeles, and though that absence was excused, his poor play since joining the defending champions has not been. Just one year after acting as the deciding force in several Laker wins, Odom reported to camp out of shape and has looked sluggish and uninterested in most Mavs games.
